Vincent R. Bassett, more commonly known as Vinnie, is a main character in Wendell & Vinnie. He is the immature guardian of Wendell and the brother to Wendell's aunt, Wilma, and the late Richard Bassett. Vinnie is asked to raise Wendell after Richard and his wife, or Wendell's parents, are killed in a car crash. As revealed in promos and episodes, Vinnie loves comics and movies. He is played by Jerry Trainor, who is best known for his roles as Spencer Shay and Dudley Puppy on two other Nickelodeon shows: iCarly and T.U.F.F. Puppy.
Vinnie is the true child of the two. He even says in one episode, "I know what 12-year-old boys like 'cause I've been one for 20 years!" He runs a pop culture memorabilia business, and is fond of video games, comic books, and eating junk food. He realizes that he was given custody of Wendell because Wendell’s parents wanted to give Vinnie a chance and knew that Wendell is making his way no matter where he lives.

Sure, he is Wendell's uncle and now legal guardian, but there's no denying who the true kid really is. Vinnie has a thing or two to learn about raising a kid, but Wendell just may be the perfect teacher!
